Our Services

At the Creative Center, it is our goal to provide a well-rounded program that develops all aspects of each individual artistically, behaviorally, and socially. To achieve this goal, we offer participants a wide range of training sessions including: art, choir, hand-bells, dance, drama, computer skills, academics, yoga, and much more. Through these training sessions, we strive to help each student reach their fullest potential. Participants gain a greater sense of self-worth by developing their talents and capabilities and using them to give back to the community in a variety of ways. Through public performances of music, dance, drama, and exhibitions of art, TCC showcases the remarkable talents of its participants and demonstrates their potential to contribute to and assume integrated roles within the community. TCC participants inspire the human spirit and render hope to those whose loved ones may have similar developmental disabilities.

In concert with our outstanding training sessions, TCC’s nurturing environment is clearly the most essential part of the program. We are proud to have gathered a strong team of highly qualified and dedicated staff that work hard to provide a caring and personalized environment for each participant. The direct-care staff and instructors are highly educated; most have degrees in the arts, psychology, or a combination of the two. More impressive than their educational background, however, is their incredible drive to provide the best program for the participants. They motivate, encourage, and challenge each individual to be successful, and work together as a team to foster each participant’s talents and strengths. In addition to courses, performances, and art exhibitions, participants are given an opportunity to participate in a number of social and educational activities throughout the year including field trips, on-site guest artist performances and workshops, and seasonal parties.

The Creative Center encourages student volunteerism through our ‘People First Civic Organization’ on site. We educate and support our clients’ success in applying training skills to the development of their independence and activities of daily living. We encourage all participants to take at least once life skills training course each session. Each client at The Creative Center has at least two goals and objective they are seeking to meet within a six month to a year period. These goals are determined by the client’s IPP team including family members, Regional Center staff, TCC instructors, and of course, the client. Each goal is designed to increase the student’s independence, self-esteem, and knowledge. After the designated six month or year period, the client’s team collaborated to discuss the goals and make any necessary changes. The team works together to create programs that will assist the client in meeting their goals.
